Had a weird moment flying NYC to Denver and I’m genuinely curious if this is a thing or not.
We usually stay seated until the row ahead of us clears, then stand up and go. The row in front of us had just left, so we stood up to exit. A woman sitting directly across the aisle from us suddenly stood up, shoved past my wife, and rushed out.
When I said something like “guess she’s going first,” she snapped back with “OH I’M SORRY ABCDEFG,” like seat letters mattered for deplaning. I was so caught off guard because I’ve never even thought about letters when getting off a plane.
Even someone behind us commented on how aggressive it was. So now I’m wondering… is there actually some unspoken rule about seat letters when deplaning, or was this just a wild overreaction?
