Is my bag too big to qualify as a JetBlue personal item?

Hello, I’ve never flown JetBlue before, only American Airlines and Delta.

I’m wondering how strict JetBlue is with personal item size limits. My bag is slightly over the official size guidelines, but it can be compressed if needed. My friends are telling me it’s too large to count as a personal item.
