I’ve done some searching and found similar discussions, but most seem focused on MSC’s Caribbean or US sailings. I’m specifically looking at a Northern Europe cruise in September 2028 and I’m trying to decide whether paying extra for Yacht Club is actually worth it.
We’ve only done one cruise before and enjoyed it, but I didn’t like the embarkation/disembarkation process at all. Being herded into crowded waiting areas wasn’t a good experience, and I’d happily pay more to avoid that in the future.
My current options are:
Premium Aurea Whirlpool Suite: £4,200 for a 7-night cruise (includes premium drinks package)
Yacht Club Deluxe Suite: £5,700 (appears similar to a balcony-style room)
Yacht Club Whirlpool Suite: £6,650 (closer in size/features to the Aurea suite)
The main question is whether Yacht Club is worth paying roughly £1,500–£2,500 extra compared to Aurea.
Since this is a Northern Europe itinerary, I’m also wondering how much of a difference YC makes in colder weather. In September, evenings can be around 5°C, so I assume outdoor amenities won’t be used as much. Does Yacht Club still offer enough indoor benefits (lounges, dining, service, priority access, etc.) to justify the cost on this type of cruise?
I’m trying to decide whether the premium is mainly about the room or the overall experience, since that’s what I’m struggling to understand from reviews (most seem to focus on warm-weather Caribbean sailings).
