My mom is visiting me in Milan and her next stop is Switzerland to see family. She was planning to take the Bernina Express, but we’ve been reading a lot about winter storms lately, flights being cancelled across Europe, etc., and it’s making us a bit nervous.
We’re both from a place with no winter, so snow and extreme cold are very new to us. I’ve only been in Milan about three months and haven’t experienced travel in colder regions yet. I haven’t seen much about train cancellations, but I’m worried about things like the train getting stuck or having issues because of the weather.
Is this kind of weather normal for this time of year? Is the Bernina Express generally reliable in winter? Any tips or things we should watch out for?
She’s planning to travel on Monday the 12th.
