Booked two rooms in London under my name and traveled with my 14 year old son. Plan was for him to have his own room. At check in, the front desk said it was illegal to let a 14 year old stay alone and cancelled the second room.
I was there with him, paid for both rooms, and they still refused to allow it. I don’t remember this being an issue when I was that age and traveled with my parents.
Is this actually common hotel policy in the UK, or does it vary by hotel? Just trying to understand what’s normal here.
