This is my first time using Booking.com for a trip to Trier, Germany.
After making a reservation, I received a message (translated from German) asking me to transfer €280 directly to a provided bank account, which I have partially redacted.
I am unsure if this is normal. I expected payment to go through Booking.com rather than being sent directly to a bank account belonging to the property.
I do not want to assume it is a scam, but I also feel uncomfortable sending money this way without understanding whether this is standard practice on the platform
