I need to book a flight on very short notice due to a family emergency, and the prices online for the travel dates (Friday or Saturday) are extremely high.

I am wondering if buying a ticket directly at the airport counter on the day of travel would be cheaper than booking through the airline website, or if the pricing is usually the same or even higher at the airport.
