Is CLEAR actually worth it?

Tried CLEAR for the first time and honestly it felt pointless. They scanned my pass, took my pic, then walked me right to TSA where they, scanned my pass and took my pic again. Just felt like an extra step, not a shortcut.

Sounds like the main perk is skipping the line when PreCheck is slammed, or getting through without your ID. Some folks like it for stadium entry too.
