I’m currently Cathay Gold and just a couple hundred status points short of Diamond. I travel a lot for work, but I might fall just short unless I do a bit of a mileage or points run before my year resets.
For those who are Diamond, are the real world benefits actually noticeable? I’m also top tier with EVA and I often get complimentary business class upgrades there when seats are open, which makes a big difference.
Is anything like that common with Cathay Diamond? And more broadly, is oneworld Emerald a meaningful step up from Star Alliance Gold in day to day travel?
Trying to decide if it’s worth spending some personal money to push over the line. It’s not cheap, but I’d at least get a trip out of it.
