I received an email offering a promotion with a 100% bonus on purchased IHG points, allowing me to buy up to 300,000 points and effectively receive 600,000 total points.
I am trying to figure out whether this type of promotion is actually worth taking advantage of. I know there is usually a rough value threshold for when buying hotel points makes financial sense, but I’m not sure what that is currently for IHG.
I also have the IHG Premier credit card, which lowers the effective cost to about 0.4 cents per point, so I’m wondering if that changes the value proposition enough to make this a good deal.
