Hi everyone,
I’m going abroad this summer through a study program, and their travel service (Flightfox) is booking my flights. I don’t have much international travel experience, so I’m unsure if my layover is realistic.
My itinerary is:
London Heathrow → Chicago O’Hare (arrives at 2:00 PM via British Airways)
Chicago O’Hare → San Francisco (departs at 3:20 PM via American Airlines)
This gives me about a 1.5-hour layover in ORD.
I’m wondering if this is enough time to clear immigration, customs, and make the domestic connection, especially as a U.S. citizen.
Update: After feedback, I’m now concerned I may not make the connection. Since the program is prepaid, I don’t have much flexibility or extra budget. I’ll check with the booking agent about whether both flights are on the same ticket so I can be rebooked if I miss the connection. I’ll also look into using the MPC app or Global Entry for faster processing. Any additional advice would be appreciated.
