Interior vs ocean view really comes down to how much the room itself matters to you

I’ve done both, and neither is “wrong,” it just depends on how you cruise.

Ocean view is great for the natural light. That alone can make the room feel bigger and more pleasant, especially in the mornings. If you like waking up and seeing the ocean or using the room to relax during the day, it’s a real upgrade.

Interior rooms are fine if you truly treat the cabin as a place to sleep and shower. They’re dark, quiet, and usually cheaper. Some people actually love that cave-like sleep. On older ships, they can feel smaller and more dated, but that’s not always a deal breaker.

Interior rooms don’t cause more motion sickness on their own. If that’s a concern, where the room is located matters more than the window. Midship and lower decks tend to feel the least movement.

Since you already know you won’t spend much time in the room this time, interior might be totally fine. If the price jump to ocean view feels painful, you’re probably better off saving the money for excursions or onboard stuff.
