IndiGo announced in mid-June 2025 that it will begin operating two new direct domestic routes connecting Delhi to key regional hubs. Starting September 20, 2025, the airline will offer four weekly flights between Delhi and Jorhat, Assam, while beginning daily services between Delhi and Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu from September 16, 2025. These new routes are aimed at boosting regional connectivity, supporting tourism, trade, and economic development in the Northeast and South India, and enhancing access to cultural, spiritual, and natural attractions in both regions.
