India’s largest airline, IndiGo, is expanding its long-haul presence in the United Kingdom with new direct flights from Mumbai to London Heathrow and Delhi to Manchester, beginning in late 2025. The carrier is also increasing flight frequencies on its existing Manchester routes, boosting capacity by 28% to meet growing demand. Meanwhile, Riyadh Air has begun a “soft launch” at London Heathrow using a leased Boeing 787 Dreamliner to maintain its landing slots before its own fleet arrives. The Saudi carrier plans to serve over 100 destinations within five years, aiming to compete with regional giants like Emirates and Qatar Airways. Together, IndiGo’s expansion and Riyadh Air’s debut highlight the rapid transformation of global air connectivity between Europe, India, and the Middle East.
