IndiGo and Oman Air both inaugurated new long-haul services to Amsterdam Schiphol on July 2, 2025, celebrated with traditional water-cannon salutes. IndiGo operates a thrice-weekly Boeing 787-9 service from Mumbai with a 338-seat configuration (56 business “Stretch” seats, 282 economy), marking its first Western European destination and boosting connectivity via its KLM codeshare.
Oman Air launched its own four-times-weekly 787-9 route from Muscat just one day after joining the oneworld alliance, aiming to enhance tourism and strengthen its revamped network post-restructuring. Schiphol’s new services reflect both airlines’ international expansion strategies—IndiGo’s move into long-haul markets and Oman Air’s European ambitions aligned with its alliance entry and national tourism goals.
