IndiGo and China Southern Airlines have announced a new codeshare partnership designed to significantly improve air connectivity between India and China. Through this agreement—still pending regulatory approval—each airline will be able to place its flight code on select routes operated by the other carrier. This will allow passengers to enjoy smoother booking options, coordinated schedules, easier transfers, and the ability to check in luggage through to their final destination. The collaboration comes at a time when IndiGo has been expanding its presence in China, including new and reinstated routes such as Delhi–Guangzhou and Kolkata–Guangzhou. For China Southern, the partnership represents an opportunity to strengthen its foothold in the fast-growing Indian aviation market while deepening economic, cultural and tourism ties between the two countries. Once fully implemented, the codeshare arrangement is expected to provide travelers with more route choices, improved connectivity beyond major hubs, and a more seamless travel experience overall.
