Not sure why this isn’t getting more attention, but I’m honestly pretty shaken by the report of ICE boarding a Carnival ship and detaining a US citizen.
Carnival already has passengers’ citizenship info, so why is this being allowed to happen onboard in the first place? Cruises are supposed to feel safe and contained, not like you can suddenly be pulled off by federal agents mid-vacation.
Maybe I’m missing some context here, but this sets a really uncomfortable precedent. Curious how others feel about this and whether Carnival has said anything meaningful yet.
