I was actually on Symphony of the Seas during the recent glass panel incident in the Solarium while we were docked in Port Canaveral. This was just weeks after hearing about the earlier pool deck accident, so it definitely got my attention. Luckily, this panel was laminated, so the shards stayed in place and no one was hurt but seeing it up close made me realize how quickly things can happen on a ship.
Some fellow passengers mentioned they’d seen similar cracks on other Oasis-class ships, and there’s been talk about whether temperature changes or structural flexing might be to blame.
I trust Royal Caribbean will handle repairs and investigate, but I’ll admit I avoided sitting directly under glass for the rest of the cruise. If you were onboard, would this have made you more cautious, or would you have brushed it off?
