I never expected disney food to be so bad

We are on the disney magic and we previously sailed princess. so far we have had 3 sit down meals, a buffet and the pool food. what am I missing? it's all so underwhelming. I was genuinely shocked the vegetables sides were just frozen veggies with no flavor. princess was cheaper and food was pretty much the same. I love the free soda and ice cream but I have yet to see why the disney cruise costs more.
