I have a question about Lufthansa’s boarding process, especially at airports where passengers are taken to the aircraft by bus.
From my experience, passengers are first called by boarding groups, including priority groups like HON and Senator. However, once everyone is called, we are all placed on the same bus together, which seems to completely remove the benefit of boarding priority.
I am struggling to understand the logic behind this system. It feels inconsistent because boarding groups suggest an orderly priority process, but the bus transfer essentially mixes everyone together.
It seems like a better system would be either:
Separate buses for priority groups and general boarding, or
A structured disembarkation from the bus to the aircraft that preserves boarding priority
As it stands, it feels like premium benefits are effectively lost, and the result is a crowded and chaotic rush at the aircraft door.
I would really like to understand how Lufthansa justifies this operationally, especially at bus-gate airports.
