I booked a round-trip ticket in Premium Select from Dublin to Portland (PDX) and decided to reach out to Delta about upgrade options for my return flight.
Five days before departure, I contacted customer service to see whether there were any opportunities to upgrade to Delta One on the flight back. Since I arrive in Dublin at around 8:00 AM on a Monday, having a lie-flat seat and the chance to get proper rest would make a huge difference.
Considering I originally paid about $4,300 for the Premium Select ticket, I was pleasantly surprised by the upgrade offer I received. The experience has convinced me that it is always worth asking about available upgrade options, even when they are not immediately obvious through the app or website.
Has anyone else had success contacting Delta directly for upgrade opportunities that were not otherwise being offered?
