Hyatt vs Marriott credit card for Asia travel?

I’m looking at getting a new hotel credit card and trying to decide between World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy.

Most of my spending is already in the Chase ecosystem, so I’d be transferring Chase points either way. My travel is mainly Asia focused, especially Tokyo and Kyoto, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea.

I know Hyatt points are generally more valuable, but Hyatt’s footprint in Asia for free night redemptions feels a bit limited. Marriott points are worth less, but their coverage in Asia is much broader, which seems useful for those destinations.

For people who travel Asia often, which setup has worked better for you? Is Hyatt still the better play despite the smaller footprint, or does Marriott’s coverage win out in practice?
