How to dodge the new Florida Hotel tax hitting Disney World hotels

Heads up if you’re planning Disney next year, Orange County’s raising hotel taxes again. My March 2024 Pop Century booking jumped from $89 to $116 just in taxes compared to October. Even All-Star Movies is creeping close to $190/night after taxes.

Workarounds I’m trying: split stay with Fairfield Inn LBV ($129/night, or 15k Marriott points = no taxes) and renting DVC points for AKL. Non-Disney hotels right outside property still get hit with lower rates too.
