Got treated to a couple first class flights this year thanks to my partner’s family and it got me thinking. Both times they used a mix of miles and purchased miles, and the seats were supposedly around 1500 dollars each. It made me wonder how many people actually pay full cash for first, versus folks using points, promos, or upgrade tricks.
It feels wild to drop that much money just on getting there, but plenty of people clearly do. Curious how common it is to actually pay outright versus letting miles do the work.
