Ethiopia has commenced construction on what will become Africa's largest airport near Bishoftu, approximately 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa.The $7.8 billion project, a collaboration between Ethiopian Airlines and the African Development Bank, aims to handle over 60 million passengers annually by 2040, significantly expanding the nation's aviation capacity.The new airport will feature four runways, 270 aircraft parking bays, and a terminal covering 1.1 million square meters, positioning Ethiopia as a central hub in global aviation.
