I am travelling to Portugal this week for my first solo trip and recently found out that tourists are technically supposed to carry photo ID with them at all times.
The thing is, I really do not want to carry my passport around everywhere because I am worried about losing it. Would a full UK driver’s license usually be enough for everyday situations instead?
I am also wondering about bars and age checks since I look fairly young. If I get asked for ID, would a UK driver’s license normally be accepted there too?
I think I am probably overthinking this because it is my first solo trip, but I would appreciate hearing what other people usually do in situations like this.
