I’ve stripped out almost every piece of gear I don’t actively use and I’m still sitting at 17 lbs base weight. And yes, that’s after a few years of backpacking and multiple 7 day trips. I’m not new to this, which is why it’s driving me nuts.
I feel like I’m already running lean, but clearly I’m missing something if people are getting way lower. Where does the weight usually hide? Big 3? Clothing? Little stuff adding up?
Happy to swap gear if it actually makes sense, but I don’t think I’m carrying anything unnecessary.
Also, before anyone suggests it, the harmonica is non negotiable.
