I recently booked a hotel in Paris through Booking.com at a very low rate. Less than 48 hours before my scheduled stay, I received a message from the hotel stating that Booking.com had experienced a cyberattack, which allegedly caused incorrect low prices to be displayed. They claimed to have received a large number of bookings in a short period and said they are unable to honor the reservations due to the hotel being fully booked.
The hotel advised guests to contact Booking.com directly to cancel and request a refund. However, I have been unable to reach Booking.com through phone or messaging support so far.
As a result, I had to book alternative accommodation at a significantly higher price and in a different location, which has disrupted my travel plans.
I am looking for advice on how to proceed in this situation, particularly regarding obtaining a refund and whether there are any escalation steps or support channels that may help resolve this issue.
