Had a confirmed reservation in Lisbon, but on the day of check-in the hotel emailed saying they had no rooms because of overbooking. They asked me to cancel it myself “so it’s free of charge.” I refused, since I didn’t want to lose my rights. I was already on my flight with no internet to find another place.
I’ve reached out to Booking.com, but has anyone dealt with this before? What’s the best move when a hotel cancels last minute like this?
