Honeymoon flight seats 16A and 16C on Qatar Airways

We’re going on our honeymoon to the Maldives and have a 13-hour flight with Qatar Airways. We selected seats 16A and 16C.

Has anyone sat in these seats before? What is between them, and why is there a gap?

I’m a bit nervous about flying and just want to make sure we’ll still feel close together during the flight.
