I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Ashland, Oregon and overall the property itself was fine, including the room, breakfast, and gym. My concern is with the management and TV access.
After checking in, I noticed that certain channels like MSNBC and Disney were password protected, while Fox News was not restricted. When I asked the front desk, they said it was likely done by a guest and that they would need to do a reset later. I tried accessing it myself but could not bypass the password protection.
At checkout the next morning, a different staff member gave a similar response, saying guests sometimes do this and that they could not fix it immediately.
After checking online reviews, I found multiple mentions suggesting this may have been an ongoing issue for years, with some claiming it is management controlled.
My concern is that guests are not informed of any content restrictions at booking. It feels like part of the service is being limited without disclosure, especially since standard hotel TV options are expected to be available for guests.
