Trying to book a 7 night Hilton stay using points plus 2 free night awards. Nights are all standard rooms, but the pricing is mixed. Some nights are 100k, then after a certain date it jumps to 130k. Looks like I’m right on the edge of peak season.
I currently have 360k points and was planning to buy 40k more to get to 400k, assuming the 5th night free works chronologically. So in theory it would price as 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 + 130, with the 5th night free, and 400k would cover it.
But I’ve seen enough weirdness with hotel programs to be nervous. Does Hilton actually do it this way, or do they average it or pull something like Marriott does?
Also, is it possible to do the 5th night free points booking plus add the 2 free night awards into one reservation over the phone? Or is it safer to book the 5 nights online and then call in to attach the award nights separately?
