Hidden mountain route in LA, I thought was gone forever just reopened and its absolutely incredible

Browsing SFGATE led me to this update that made me jump with excitement - the Angeles Crest Highway section I used to love exploring has finally reopened! I cant tell you how many incredible drives I enjoyed on this 10-mile stretch through Angeles National Forest before those massive storms in winter 2022 forced its closure. This scenic route from La Cañada Flintridge toward Wrightwood was my secret escape from LA's chaos, winding through some of the most stunning forest views you could imagine. When the rockslides and road damage hit, I honestly thought we'd lost this gem forever.

I've driven so many mountain roads across California, but there's something uniquely special about this one. If you're planning to check it out now that it's reopened, I'd recommend going early morning when the light hits the forest just right. And don't rush it - there are countless pullouts where you can safely stop to take in the views or grab photos. Just remember that mountain weather can change quickly, so always check conditions before heading out. I learned that lesson the hard way during a surprise storm years ago! This Mountain Highway Reopens update perfectly captures why I'm passionate about travel.
