Browsing LakeExpo.com led me to this update on Ozarks Trail Construction, and it brought back memories of my hiking adventures in the area last summer. I had stumbled upon Three Seasons Road during my exploration of Lake of the Ozarks and chatted with some locals who were buzzing about the upcoming 70-mile trail system. The community's enthusiasm was contagious - especially when I met Stacy from the Community Foundation, who shared their vision of connecting the natural surface trails through the residential areas. It reminded me so much of how I discovered some of my favorite hiking spots: through local insights and community projects.
What really struck me during my time there was how this trail project, particularly the planned 2.5-mile stretch near Osage Beach Elementary School, could transform the whole outdoor recreation scene. I spent several days exploring the existing paths around the lake, and I could easily envision how these new connecting trails would create an incredible network for both hikers and bikers. The residential location makes it perfect for morning jogs or evening walks - something I wished I had during my stay. Watching this project unfold has definitely put Lake of the Ozarks back on my travel radar.
