Just passed through one of CLEAR’s new biometric eGates at ATL and… wow. I’m a CLEAR+ member, so I opted in out of curiosity, but the entire ID check took maybe 4 seconds. It scanned my face, matched it to my ID and boarding pass, and sent me straight to the screening line no podium stop, no staff interaction. It’s fast, slick, and kind of futuristic.
CLEAR and TSA are piloting this at ATL, DCA, and SEA with hopes to roll it out nationwide before the 2026 World Cup rush. It’s only for CLEAR+ members right now, but I can see this becoming the new normal. Anyone else tried it yet? I’m wondering how it’ll hold up during peak hours and whether TSA PreCheck will still be necessary.
