I’ve hired a car for a trip outside London, but due to a change of plans I now need to drive into central London (Kensington).
Changing the booking doesn’t really make sense because it would involve extra costs, and adjusting the dates would be more expensive than paying congestion-related charges.
I’ve found a few underground car parks, so parking itself isn’t an issue. What I’m unclear about is how the charge actually applies.
If I:
enter central London on the 28th and park the car
don’t drive again while the car is parked
leave on the 30th
Do I pay for each day I am physically in the zone, or only on the days I actually drive into it?
Also, are there any restrictions from rental companies like Europcar on driving into central London? I couldn’t find anything in my booking through easyJet, but I want to be sure.
If it helps, I’d also consider parking outside London and taking the Tube in if that makes more sense financially.
