As a Minnesota resident, I wanted to give anyone planning a trip here a quick heads up the state is under an air quality alert from Sunday morning through Tuesday morning. The haze will roll in from the west and spread across the state by Sunday evening. It’s still beautiful weather otherwise, with highs in the 70s and low 80s and plenty of sunshine, but the smoky skies might limit outdoor activities for some.
If you’re visiting for hiking, biking, or lake days, you might want to shift your plans to indoor attractions or keep outings shorter. Once the smoke clears, you’ll be able to fully enjoy our summer trails, parks, and waterfronts again.
Have you ever experienced one of these smoky stretches while traveling? How did you make the most of your trip?
