Just heard Hawaiian Airlines is giving its A330s a serious glow-up – and I’m here for it. They’re adding a true premium economy cabin, think 2-3-2, wider seats, better meals, and all the priority perks plus more first-class seats. The main cabin is getting a refresh too, with new upholstery and mood lighting.
The first updated jet is due summer 2026, but it’s part of a multi-year revamp. These birds mostly serve Hawaii–mainland and long-haul routes like Australia, Asia, and New Zealand, so the extra comfort will make a big difference on those 8+ hour flights.
Personally, I’ve flown their current Extra Comfort and it’s fine, but not premium economy. This feels like a big step toward matching other carriers’ offerings – especially with Alaska now running the show.
What do you think? Will this keep the A330s competitive with the 787s, or is it just delaying their retirement?
