My husband and I booked and paid for flights from San Diego to Rarotonga for May 30 to June 14, 2026 on Hawaiian to celebrate our retirement. We were just told the HNL to RAR segment has been canceled for our dates and possibly beyond.
They’re blaming the merger and saying they don’t yet know if the route will come back in time for our trip. Meanwhile, we already prepaid for hotels and connecting flights to a nearby island, all non refundable.
What’s frustrating is that when we booked, most of the seats looked taken, so this didn’t feel like some weak seasonal route. Now we’re stuck waiting with a lot of money on the line.
Has anyone else been affected by this cancellation or heard anything more concrete about whether Hawaiian plans to bring this route back?
