Had a pretty surreal travel moment today.

JFK to SFO got delayed, then fully cancelled. I left the lounge and headed to the gate to deal with bags.

Then suddenly they announce the flight might be back on if they can find a captain.

Apparently the original crew couldn’t make it, but they found a captain on her day off who agreed to come in. She showed up, and next thing you know the “cancelled” flight is boarding again.

We ended up taking off with like 20 people total.

Still can’t believe I got a cancellation notification for a flight I ended up taking anyway.
