I’ve taken Amtrak probably a hundred times over the last few years and just got ID checked for the first time ever. The conductor didn’t just glance he scanned it.
Only thing different this trip is I swapped my ticket a couple times today and used a voucher, so maybe that’s why? Then later at Philly, I moved up one row and the conductor checked the ID of the new person who sat in my old seat. So maybe it’s seat-specific?
Anyone else had this happen lately?
