Stopped at the SMF Priority Pass lounge with my wife and 4 kids. Showed the attendant my PP account on my phone, she typed something in, smiled, and said “we’re all set.”
No mention of guest fees. No total. No warning. I didn’t hand over an Amex or any other card.
A few days later I see a $105 charge. Turns out it’s $35 x 3 guests. Priority Pass says it was processed correctly and there’s nothing they can do.
What’s frustrating is there was zero transparency. If I had known it was $35 per person for pastries and a Sprite, I would’ve walked out.
For those who use PP regularly:
• Is it standard that they don’t verbally confirm guest charges?
• Are lounges supposed to disclose fees before entry?
• Has anyone successfully disputed this?
• If I dispute through Amex, is there any risk to my Priority Pass account?
Mostly just annoyed at the lack of heads up.
