I arrived in Japan yesterday and have been really enjoying Shinjuku so far. Tonight while walking back to my hotel I ended up going through one of the adult entertainment areas.
While walking alone, a man approached me asking if I was okay and if I wanted anything. I said no and kept walking. A few minutes later another guy approached me, which made me uneasy, so I ducked into a convenience store.
When I looked around it seemed like a few of them were waiting nearby, which honestly shook me a bit. I ended up heading straight back to my hotel instead of exploring more.
Does anyone know who these guys typically are or what they’re trying to do? I’m traveling solo so I’m just trying to understand the situation better.
