I already had the Amex Platinum but applied for the Gold using my new address and a different email after moving. Amex asked for proof of address, which I sent in. I also told a rep that if I wasn’t eligible for a signup bonus, I’d like to cancel the app.
A few days later, I got approved and offered 60,000 points. Just sharing in case anyone’s in the same boat it worked for me.
