Lufthansa is set to resume flights to Tehran in early 2026, operating six times weekly between Frankfurt and Tehran, nearly five months after suspending operations due to the conflict triggered by Israel’s actions. The carrier conducted a safety and operational assessment at Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran and is finalising a memorandum of understanding with Iran’s aviation authority covering technical cooperation and crisis management. The move is seen as a sign of renewed confidence in Iranian airspace and could encourage other international airlines to return.
