It’s always interesting to peek at how different countries travel, and this German market report totally confirms what I’ve noticed on the ground: Germans are serious about their vacations. €83.4 billion spent in 2024 and 80% of the population taking long holidays? That’s some impressive dedication. And of course, Spain stays undefeated at the top.
But what really stands out is how strong Pauschalreisen still are half of all travel spending! That all-inclusive, no-surprises model clearly still hits the mark. Also cool to see cruise travel roaring back, even past pre-COVID levels. Makes me wonder if we'll see the same spike here soon.
Anyone else surprised the US made the top 10? I always thought long-haul was fading a bit in Europe with sustainability on the rise.
