My wife and I are cruising for her birthday in June and, as expected, flights to Florida are pricey… except Spirit.
She flew Spirit once years ago and is stuck on the old “Spirit is dangerous because it’s cheap” idea. I’ve never flown them, so I don’t have firsthand experience. I do know aviation overall is extremely safe regardless of airline.
For those who fly Spirit regularly or recently:
• Is it really that bad, or just no frills?
• Are delays and cancellations significantly worse than other airlines?
• Any tips to avoid common pitfalls like bag fees and seat issues?
We’re fine with basic as long as it’s safe and reasonably reliable. Just trying to separate internet reputation from reality.
