Gate-checked carry-on disappeared after connection… now what?

That’s such a nightmare scenario… especially when you didn’t even want to gate check it in the first place.

Short connection, late flight, no bag at the carousel, and then you’re basically forced to run to your next flight without it… and now it’s just gone.

At that point it’s basically treated like a lost checked bag, even though it started as a carry-on. Calling them is probably the only real move, but yeah… super frustrating when you didn’t choose to check it.
