Saw a frustrating situation someone shared after a delayed flight.
The flight was already delayed about 1.5 hours while they looked for a replacement pilot. During that time passengers were allowed to leave the plane and wait around the gate.
About 30 minutes before the new departure time the gate agent made a final call and said the door would close in five minutes. The person was standing right by the gate, grabbed their things, and within about a minute the agent closed the door and denied boarding to them and around 10 other passengers.
Customer service only offered a rebooking two days later and didn’t provide any hotel or food vouchers, so they ended up booking another airline and paying for a hotel themselves.
Situations like that would drive me crazy.
