I wanted to share my recent experience in case it helps others who are asking about refunds for upcoming travel.
I had booked Economy Saver tickets with Emirates for a trip from Singapore to Barcelona, transiting through Dubai, scheduled for 19 June. Due to concerns about escalating tensions in the Middle East, my partner and I decided not to proceed with the trip.
I contacted Emirates customer support through online chat and explained my situation, providing my booking details. Within about 15 minutes, I was informed that my Economy Saver fare would not incur a cancellation penalty and that I would receive a full refund to my original payment method.
After that, I submitted the refund request form and included screenshots of both my booking confirmation and the customer support chat.
Within 12 hours, I received an email confirming that my refund had been approved and was being processed, with an expected timeline of around 15 business days for completion.
